EdTech student support table
The idea
I proposed a visible, drop-in presence for Educational Technology: a table and pop-up held twice a week where students can bring any tech question. Then I designed the service model, including the schedule, advertised hours, where the table sits, and the referral pathways to other student services such as Tech Tutors, the Library, and IT.
What students bring
From January to July 2026 the service logged 162 interactions.
About half of those questions (83 of 162) were outside EdTech's remit: account activation, multi-factor authentication, campus Wi-Fi, printing, student ID cards, and finding their way around campus. Rather than turn students away, I resolved what I could on the spot and referred the rest to the right service.
Measuring it
I built the tracking instrument behind those numbers: a Microsoft Form feeding a linked Excel workbook, with pivot tables and reports by type of issue. It gives the college a record of in-person support demand it didn't have before.
The records also show where self-serve help is missing. In the first six months, 61 interactions concerned something with no guide or other self-serve resource to point to. Those gaps inform which guides I write next, and I share them with the departments whose services students were asking about.
