Brightspace templates and widgets

Course template and component library

I write and maintain the CSS for Brightspace courses template used across Langara's courses, along with a shared library of components (accordions, tabs, and columns) that instructors can add to their own content.

Because every course draws on these styles, a fix made once in the template reaches every course that uses it. That makes the template the most efficient place to improve accessibility and consistency across the college.

Widgets

• Instructor contact widget. Gives students a consistent place to find how to reach their instructor. It comes in several layouts, adapts to screen size, and has documentation so instructors can copy and customize it. It's now deployed college-wide.
• Help for students. A popover on the course homepage that points students to support.
• Iframe widget. For embedding Padlet content in a course.
